City of College Park — Here & Now Newsletter
Designed and produced monthly newsletter inserts communicating City news, programs, and community updates.
Project Overview
The Here & Now insert is a monthly newsletter distributed to residents that highlights key updates, programs, and community initiatives. Each issue requires balancing clear communication with engaging visual design to ensure information is both accessible and impactful.
I am responsible for shaping each edition from concept to final production — including content writing, layout design, and visual hierarchy — while collaborating with internal teams for accuracy and approvals.

I lead the creation of each Here & Now insert from concept to final production, including layout design, content writing, and overall structure. I focus on organizing information in a clear, accessible way while maintaining consistency with the City’s voice. Each issue involves collaboration with internal teams to ensure accuracy and alignment, while adapting the design to fit new content each month.

This work results in consistent, high-quality monthly publications that communicate City updates in a clear and engaging way. By prioritizing strong visual hierarchy and readability, the inserts make information easier to navigate and understand. The approach also creates a scalable system for recurring content, strengthening communication between the City and its residents.

Content Strategy
Each issue begins with gathering information from multiple City departments, including programs, events, and service updates. I translate this information into clear, concise messaging that aligns with the City’s voice while ensuring it is easy for residents to understand. The goal is to simplify complex or detailed information into content that feels approachable and relevant.
Information Architecture
Once content is developed, I structure each issue to guide readers through the information in a logical and engaging way. This includes organizing sections, prioritizing key updates, and creating a flow that allows readers to quickly scan or dive deeper. Each layout is designed to balance consistency with flexibility, adapting to the needs of each month’s content.
Visual System
The visual design focuses on clarity, hierarchy, and accessibility. I use consistent typography, spacing, and layout systems to ensure information is easy to read and navigate. Each issue maintains a cohesive look while incorporating subtle variations to keep the design fresh and engaging across monthly releases.
